Summer!

Hey Everyone!

Hope y'all are doing well. Just spent the last month in my hometown of Turtle Lake, WI, teaching summer school courses & living at our family's cabin. Was a blast! Taught two drawing classes & directed the Turtle Lake Summer School Play. We wrote & did a musical version of "The Emperor's New Clothes." The kids did great. Always a blast working with Manfred Schonauer. Very talented pianist. A rock n' roller from Germany. Very uplifting guy & always gets my head back on straight when things get a little frustrating in the music biz. Check out his new record & website (www.manfredsmusic.com). Taught the kids a bunch of 50's greaser tunes, so you'll be hearin' a few of them at our upcoming shows. It's all I listened to for a month. Awesome! Had a ton of friends come up & stay. Fellow musician, Chris Hornisch, of the Fountainheads, taught a unit on graphic design. Was fun. I stuck around through the 4th. Shot off a ton of fireworks (provided by Victory Fireworks), drank High Life Light, fished, ate & hung out with family & friends. Anyway, just adjusting back to the fast paced city life. But lookin' forward to getting back to giggin & getting this new record done!

Our family lost ol' Frank Stary a week or so ago. Originally from Turtle Lake, WI, as well. He also played in bands in the Twin Cities area & back in the day had a group called "Buck Stary & The Ramblers." I got the poster hangin' in my room. 35 cents for admission. Wow. They played old roaring 20's, big band, etc. music. Gonna miss him.

The Travis Tritt show went great. We ended up going on after him, which was cool. Got to meet Travis, his band & his road crew. Was a fun time. His voice is amazing.

Harbor Bar Country Fest was also a ton of fun. Had my buddy, Tom Schradle, help out with the road crew stuff & he did a great job. Was a good time & hoping that is grows next year! A late night for us. Think we rolled in at around 3:30am & of course ya gotta have a cold one after all that work!

The Grand Opening of GB Leighton's Pickle Park was a good show as well. Always fun hanging with the Mahoney crew. Really enjoy Tim's new record. The Whiskey Roses played great. We we're rockin! Thanks to Randy Tollin for the great pics! Hope to be playing that club again soon! It's like straight out of Vegas! Guitars & music memorabilia everywhere! Sweet!

Philanders in Prescott was fun, but hot as hell! One of the hottest shows I have ever been on. Beer, water, beer, water, etc. But went over great. Sold some cd's & the band played very well. Hope to grab another gig there before the end of the summer.

Getting really anxious for the K102 Boat Show. Guess there selling a lot of tickets. Gonna be a blast. I'm gonna be on a road trip that entire week comin' in from Seattle & hoping we make it there on time!

Also, gonna be fun playing my hometown of Turtle Lake, WI, for the T.L. Fair. Gonna be rough getting up to run the Turtle Trot Race the next morning at 8:00 am, but oh well.

Have had a ton of fun acoustic shows latley. Did Old Chicago last night & that was fun as hell. Otherwise, Breakroom, Nova, Ingredients, Majors, Tanners Station, Blarney, all have been a blast. Love doing those acoustic shows.

Anyway, thanks for stoppin' by to see what we're up to. Hope all is well & see ya soon!

Mark

Mark,

Haven't seen you for a long time! I saw you this morning on the Kare11 morning show, it was kinda crazy because I was just looking thru pictures from homecoming at Stout and saw a picture of the two of us drinking it up.
