"Louie"
Saturday Night...
Everyone was cheering and doing shots of whiskey. Every room in the house had the radio cranked. The anticipation for the song was amazing. We heard the D.J's mention our names and briefly discuss the band and the record. We all started cheering. Next song! The house is about to erupt. Silence as the last commercial leaves the airwaves. Then!.....then!!!........then!!!!............."This is Our Country" by John Cougar Mellencamp came on. We were skipped. I cannot describe the let down. We were devistated. So close. Within' minuites everyone had their phones lit up calling K102. People lined up to get on the computer and e-mail the station. The house was up in arms. People calling each other from all over the area asking "What the f*** happened?" At the peak of the chaos, at my friends request, I grabbed our record, went to the main stereo in the house and cranked the song anyway. Everyone sang and danced along. When the song ended, I could hear some friends and fans in the other room with an acoustic guitar playing our tunes and singing them as loud as they could. Looked out the window and saw people outside still desprately tring to get through to the radio station. I looked at the kitchen clock, it was midnight and I had just turned 30 years old. A tear got away from me. This is grass roots and I've never been so touched in all my life.
Yes, our song was skipped on K102 on Saturday night. I have been contacted by the station with their deepest apologies. The song was accidently cut due to time restraints. Ours was not supposed to be the one cut. The situation was simply a case of unfortunate luck on ours and the D.J.'s parts. No one is to blame. Please continue to support K102 and especially the "Roadhouse" broadcast. They have believed in us and will be playing us again in the very near future. Likely, this Saturday night. Being involved with the music industry as long as I have. I have become accustomed to dissapointment from time to time. This will not deter us in anyway. Like I said, we will be on again soon and thank you to K102 for handling this situation responsibly and with care. The D.J.'s on K102 said some very nice things about our group before the commercial break and for that I am very appreciative. Please keep calling K102 and sending your e-mails requesting our music. Everyone who listened, called in and e-mailed I thank you for your support.
Had a great time at "Dukes" on Thursday with Travis Moon and Geno Ricci from K102. Lots of potential for that show for sure. Travis Moon mentioned that he may be placing us on his famous Travis Moon's Test Tune broadcast in the near futue. I will inform all that are on the e-mail listing when for sure. Please call in a give'em your feedback!
"Acadia" was a blast as well. Great to see Jon Jacobson again with "Johari's Window."They were great and we will be workin' with them again soon. Good to see you too Santos! Thanks to all who came out.
Thanks to everyone who supports this band. We love you. Have a great Holiday season and see you soon.
